Every Thursday from 4–7pm, we invite you to ease out of your week the analog way. No pressure. Just you, resetting. D & D is a weekly ritual rooted in rhythm, reflection, and record bins. Pull up, slow down, and let the shop set the tone for your evening — with curated soundtracks, a rotating selection of 21+ drinks, and curated energy by local DJs who'll also livestream during the events. 1st + 4th Thursdays also feature hands-on workshops — analog art sessions and musical conversation — giving you space to explore, create, and connect with community.

Every Saturday we invite a local DJ to take over the Shop's turntables and play absolutely whatever they're feeling, no requests. The idea is that in a club or bar setting, you're often not hearing the full range of an artist's repertoire. You likely won't hear your favorite DJ spinning what they REALLY love or collect, listen to at home, or zone out to on the train. And that's what Selector Saturdays is meant for... It's a place for DJs to stretch out and go deep, without any pressure to make anyone dance, tap a toe, or recognize the song. And as listeners, we're just here to take in what they're putting down and ride along on the journey.

CVC fam — the Southside edition is here! This November we’re bringing Chicago Vinyl Connection to a brand new home: The Promontory in Hyde Park. A fresh space, the right energy, and the perfect spot to close out the year together. We’re teaming up with our friends at Vinyl + Vittles to create more than just a record show — it’s a day to gather. Crates will be heavy with soul, funk, jazz, hip-hop, house, world, latin, psych, and more from indie dealers across Chicagoland (and beyond!), but the real magic happens in the conversations, the connections, and the joy of being in the room together. And this round we’re leveling it up — six DJs on the decks, each bringing their own flavor to the soundtrack from afternoon into evening. Free entry, open to all. Bring your friends, meet your neighbors, and celebrate the season with music, community, and the culture that connects us.

Record Store Day Is Almost Here! It’s about that time again, and we’re setting off the season the Miyagi way — with a full day of music, community, and good energy. Join us Saturday, November 29th, from 10AM–7PM for our bi-annual Record Store Day jam — a thank-you to everyone who’s supported the shop this year. There’ll be storewide deals across every format and genre, including all printed media, plus something special for lovers of DJs and DJing. Expect two floors of live sets from our graduating DJ 101 students, treats by Mutha Earth, drip coffee from Homecourt Collective, and a hosted bar by Marz Brewery (while it lasts). The bins will be deep with fresh arrivals, the vibes will be high, and the turntables will stay rotating. Doors open at 10AM for the early risers — but no promises the gems will still be there later :)
