WEEKLY EVENTS @ MIYAGI
tune in and unwind!

Dig + Disconnect | Every Friday 4-7pm
Unwind With Intention
Dig + Disconnect is Miyagi’s weekly Friday gathering meant for getting back to the point: slow listening, real-world skill-building, and community time. Rotating throughout each month we host Open Decks (D+D Edition) — a welcoming, low-pressure session where DJs and learners can practice transitions, try new blends, and build confidence on the decks (with other heads in the room, not a spotlight). You’ll also catch guest takeovers from local selectors, DJs, and community partners — special nights that bring fresh sounds, stories, and different ways of listening into the room. D+D is for crate-diggers, curious beginners, and seasoned heads alike..

Selector Saturdays | Every Sat 3-5pm
Live DJ Performances
Selector Saturdays is where we hand the turntables to a guest selector and let them stretch out — no requests, no pressure, no play the hits. In clubs and bars you usually get a version of a DJ built for the room. Here, you get the full range: the records they collect, study, and truly love. This program often features Miyagi Education grads stepping into the booth, sharing what they’ve been building, and going deep in their own voice — alongside seasoned local DJs and community partners. It’s a space for selectors to tell a story, and a space for listeners to slow down and take it in.

Juneteenth 2026
for our family, friends, + neighbors
This year’s Juneteenth celebration is for our family, friends, neighbors, and the wider community that continues to make spaces like ours meaningful. From Open Decks and DJs soundtracking the day, to community vendors, coffee from Call It Coffee, fresh offerings from Bread Head Bakery, and our Create + Meditate workshop, this is meant to feel less like a formal event and more like what it should be: a space to gather, connect, reflect, and celebrate together. We’re grateful to be able to hold space for moments like this on the South Side, and grateful for the histories, people, and cultural traditions that make gatherings like this matter.

Raised on Records
A Father’s Day Celebration w/ Record Highs
This one’s for all the dads, uncles, grandpas, big brothers, mentors, and dads-to-be who helped shape what we listen to — and how we listen. The ones who kept records in the house, played music on weekend mornings, put us onto classics in the car, or made sure the right songs were always in rotation. We’re excited to team up once more with our friends at Record Highs for a laid-back celebration rooted in family, memory, and the records that raised us. Enjoy 15% off used inventory*, a silent listening session, a Dad’s Day photobooth, and complimentary gifts for the first 20 dads. Whether you’re shopping for pops, bringing him through, or just honoring the father figures who shaped your ear — come spend the day with us.
