Dig + Disconnect is Miyagi’s weekly Friday gathering meant for getting back to the point: slow listening, real-world skill-building, and community time. Rotating throughout each month we host Open Decks (D+D Edition) — a welcoming, low-pressure session where DJs and learners can practice transitions, try new blends, and build confidence on the decks (with other heads in the room, not a spotlight). You’ll also catch guest takeovers from local selectors, DJs, and community partners — special nights that bring fresh sounds, stories, and different ways of listening into the room. D+D is for crate-diggers, curious beginners, and seasoned heads alike..

Selector Saturdays is where we hand the turntables to a guest selector and let them stretch out — no requests, no pressure, no play the hits. In clubs and bars you usually get a version of a DJ built for the room. Here, you get the full range: the records they collect, study, and truly love. This program often features Miyagi Education grads stepping into the booth, sharing what they’ve been building, and going deep in their own voice — alongside seasoned local DJs and community partners. It’s a space for selectors to tell a story, and a space for listeners to slow down and take it in.

It’s almost that time again, and we’re jumping into Spring the Miyagi way — with a full day of music, community, and good energy. Join us Saturday, April 18th, from 10am–6pm for our bi-annual Record Store Day celebration. There’ll be storewide deals across every format and genre, including all printed media, plus something special for lovers of DJs and DJing. Expect two floors of live sets from our graduating DJ 101/102 students, a silent listening session by Record Highs, and a one-day only Call It Coffee pop-up! The bins will be deep with fresh arrivals, the vibes will be on 11, and the turntables will be spinning all day long.
